From the beginning we were very excited about designing Kris’ website because she started off by telling us how awesome she thought our work was and how she wanted us to come up with original animated art to be the theme for her site!

As inspiration Kris showed us a book by Eric Carle. We made a bunch of paintings and cut out pieces to bring into flash, where animation superhero, Kim Hui, brought them to life.

Launch: The Way

We’re just getting back from our annual trip to Spain, while we were there we coincidentally launched a site for a film set on the Camino de Santiago a Compostela – ‘The Way’ directed by Emelio Estevez.

‘The Way’ was directed by Emelio Estevez, and stars his father, Martin Sheen. In the movie Emelio’s character is somehow killed on the Camino de Santiago a Compostela, a religious pilgrimage through Spain. We haven’t seen the film yet, so we’re not sure how he dies, no spoilers here… but from the trailer we’ve gathered that his father takes his son’s ashes and goes on the camino himself.

Thanks to Ben at Mixed Media Workshop for getting this great job for us and collaborating on the work. Together we achieved some cool results with this site, and we’re very proud of the way it came out, also can’t wait to see the film, we’re big fans of Emelio!!

Flash can be used to add all kinds of interactivity and animation to your web pages, you can add flash movies to HTML pages to enhance them or even make an entire site in Flash (don’t forget your HTML alternate content of course)

Learning ActionScript 3.0: If you are trying to make the transition from AS2 to AS3 or if you want to learn AS3 but you’re not a mad programming genius, then this is the book for you (if you are a mad programming genius, get the Colin Moock book instead).

FlashCreations: This site has some great tutorials.
CSS & Flash: Getting CSS to style your Flash content is a hard thing to figure out, this page helped us out a lot.
Track Flash Events with Google Analytics: You can now track events in flash movies with your Google Analytics Account. Also this page is helpful when you’re ready to try some more advanced tracking of flash events with google analytics using variables.
