New York based photographer, Elizabeth Watt, is continually re-inventing herself and re-discovering new ways to present her work to the public. mimoYmima has been her digital agency for many years and we couldn’t ask for a more admirable and prolific artist to have as a client

Website Design

Her tabletop photography is not just visually stunning, but it’s playful and creative – brimming with personality. You can see references to all types of artwork in her photography, from classical still-life that is meticulously arranged to modern/minimal masterpieces which make you look at simple objects in ways you never would have.

Her work has been published in countless national magazines and used by the largest agencies including BBDO, Real Simple, Oprah Magazine, Martha Stewart Living Magazine, Random House Books, Saatchi & Saatchi.

Branding Choices

We’ve been looking for an excuse to use the typeface Mrs. Eaves in a logo for a long time. The uppercase W is just the best thing ever, so it worked out good for Watt’s logo. Elizabeth’s identity is very simple and minimal and makes you see the type for all of it’s beauty:

Photo Blog Design

We’ve been working on some logos for this California-based agency that represents children’s photographers.

Round 1

For round one we tried a bunch of different ideas and boiled it down to two logos we thought were very strong and were in very different styles.

Round 2

We tried some other variations of the first logo, here’s one of the better ones:

Round 3

We made a few changes and we’re down to three choices.

More Color…

Here’s our last minute attempt to add more color. Like Emeril would say, it needed to be kicked up a notch:

Two more

Final Logo Choice

I think we’ve got it!

The post Identity: Treehouse Reps. appeared first on mimoYmima.

We just launched Rick Scott's Photography Site and added some cool features we've never programmed into a flash photo site before.

The post LAUNCH: Rick Scott Photography appeared first on mimoYmima.

When you go to the Rick Scott’s Photography Site and navigate into the Collections section, you’ll get a quick note that comes up and tells you how to navigate through the images and collections with your keyboard.

Doing the extra work to get this feature in the site we feel was well worth the effort, and something we’ll probably be doing on a lot of future flash sites. The main perk is that the user can close the thumbnail navigation and give the entire browser window to the image (which is what they are there to see).

Personally I prefer to navigate photo sites using the keyboard because you don’t need to make sure your mouse stays hovered over an arrow or do the work to keep clicking from thumbnail to thumbnail… you just use the left and right arrow keys to advance through the photos and up and down to go between sets. It allows you to concentrate more on the photos than the navigating.

The post LAUNCH: Rick Scott Photography appeared first on mimoYmima.

Offset Printing

This is our second big print job in a row (see Weidenbaum Development). We’ve been working with Nobel Printing in Manhattan and really love the attention to detail they give to their work, working on-press with an offset printer is really exhilarating. They treat their work like an artform and you can really feel the history when you walk around their shop.
